Corporate & Investment Banking : Global Transaction Banking

The Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) combines Deutsche Bank’s Corporate Finance, Global Markets and Global Transaction Banking businesses.

This new business division was created in 2017 with the aim to ensure greater alignment of product and sales efforts, enabling the bank to deliver a better service to clients and a more focused resource allocation.

Global Transaction Banking (GTB) is a leading global provider of cash management, trade finance and securities services, delivering the full range of commercial banking products and services for both corporates and institutions worldwide.

Position Overview

Trust & Agency Services ( TAS ) business division is an important pillar of Global Transaction Banking of Deutsche Bank.

Corporate Trust ( CT ) is a core business of TAS which generates annual recurring revenue and new revenue to TAS. Asia is a growth region in the TAS global business.

This role will have the primary focus on CT sales support to the CT Sales Team in APAC with salespersons based in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Japan and India covering the whole APAC region.

The CT Sales Team is responsible for originating new business from existing clients and new clients (who can be corporates, FIs and fund managers etc.

intermediaries (other investment banks and law firms etc.) as well as other Deutsche Bank divisions. CT has a very diverse sales / client coverage model and product range in APAC (from secured loans, public bonds to M&A escrows).

In addition to the CT exposure, the candidate is also expected to take on sales support responsibilities on Depositary Receipts ( DR ) products within TAS group in the APAC region if required and to connect with other parts of the bank.

This is a starting role as sales support to the regional sales team of TAS. As a career path, the candidate has an opportunity to move on to become a TAS salesperson in delivering sales revenue.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the regional Sales team to perform support and administration in the whole process of sales execution, including :
  • Collect market intelligence and conduct news search on potential business leads
  • Prepare fee proposals, client presentations and marketing materials etc.
  • Input, update and consolidate sales MIS database and systems
  • Fulfill sales compliance checkpoints
  • Coordinate and follow-up on client documentation, internal KYC and other aspects of sales execution
  • Reach out to clients, prospects and intermediary business partners to conduct follow-up on new sales pitches and internal process coordination etc.
  • Assist the Sales Team in producing sales execution plans on priority names, client segments and / or market segments
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Client Service and other internal execution teams
  • Help identify cross-sell / referral opportunities and maximize collaborations with other business divisions of the bank
  • Ensure strict compliance with the bank’s Safety and Soundness policies for risk management and business control
  • Key Attributes

  • Experience in client management and sales support in dealing with corporate or institutional clients
  • Good network with capital market intermediaries including investment banks, law firms, VC / PE investors etc. is a plus
  • Demonstrate potentials to take on a salesperson role
  • Good interpersonal skills and business acumen
  • Detail-oriented and be accountable on tasks
  • A team player
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight timeline
  • Proactive can do attitude with strong business ethic
  • Ability to handle confidential and price sensitive information
  • A collaborative, communicative and partnership-based approach in working with colleagues within TAS and across other parts of the bank
  • Good proficiency in English and Mandarin, both spoken and written. Cantonese speaking is a plus
  • Good commend of PowerPoint, Excel and Word etc.
