The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) is seeking a seasoned professional Business Intelligence Analyst / Business Analyst to help building the most advanced campus IT infrastructure and systems in the world.
The appointee will be required to station and work in the Mainland (initially in Nansha prior to the official opening of the GZ campus in the Fall of 2022).
English is the administration language of HKUST(GZ).
Duties
Conduct market research and analysis on university related software and systems;
Conduct clear requirement analysis and translate user requirements into agile stories for effective IT development for both GZ & HK IT teams;
Consult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues, and recommend programming solutions;
Support project manager to prepare presentation / meeting materials, produce meeting minutes / follow-up in time with good quality;
Facilitate project manager to provide reasonable project timeline to business users, communicate with clients on status / potential risk frequently to ensure on-time service delivery;
Facilitate GZ business owner to manage UAT test plan : Obtain UAT test cases from relevant business users; review UAT plan and results;
seek appropriate approvals;
Write BRD / FRD in a timely manner of high quality;
Conduct data analysis to locate and resolve any possible issues or implement new data operation tasks; and
Escalate issues in an effective manner and resolve these in conjunction with the rest of the team / business stakeholders.
Requirements
A bachelor's degree in Business related field or Computer Science;
3 years of relevant experience in Business Intelligence Analyst / Business Analyst role; experience in university or educational application development or business analysis is a big plus
Analytical thinking and independent problem solving skills;
Proficient in Microsoft tools (Excel, Powerpoint, Project, Visio);
Proactive, cheerful, detail orientated, strong in communication and stress resistance;
Full of passion, self-discipline, sense of responsibility with good team spirit; and
Good command of spoken and written English.
This is a Mainland appointment and the appointee will be offered a contract by HKUST Mainland entity in accordance with the local labor laws and regulations.
Appointment will initially be made on a 2- year contract, renewable subject to mutual agreement.
