Job Summary) :

1. Transaction Management, including Equities, Fixed Income, FX, Derivatives and Collateral activities, initiatives, and projects from the perspective of GPRS.

2. Transaction Management business support, including counterparty / broker / custodian onboarding, liaison, response to inquiries and requests.

3. Act as the in-region escalation point for Derivatives and Collateral related matters.

Key Responsibilities / Duties :

  • Manage Equities, Fixed Income, FX, Exchange Traded Derivatives and OTC Derivatives ( Derivatives ) related activities throughout the transaction life cycle;
  • requests, projects and initiatives raised by business partners e.g. Investment Teams located in Asia Pacific, from GPRS’s perspective.

  • Support other non BAU (Business-As-Usual) activities, e.g. on-boarding new brokers, opening broker accounts, liaison with custodian with primary operations in AP etc.
  • Acts as in-region SME (Subject Matter Expert) for Derivatives and provide support and advices to business partners and stakeholders, e.
  • g. regulatory and operations.

  • Acts as in-region escalation point for Derivatives and Collateral matters, where possible, take appropriate actions to resolve the issues being escalated.
  • Being the SME on Derivatives regulations in Asia Pacific, including but not limited to HK regulations.
  • Manage the vendor relationship, e.g. counterparties, clearing broker, collateral management agent etc.
  • Develop and manage the end-to-end process of introducing new Derivatives instruments in Asia Pacific.
  • Work Experience / Knowledge :

  • 5 - 8 years of experience in transaction management within investment management industry, securities servicing, or similar environment.
  • Understanding of the post-trade operations, securities settlement, derivatives clearing processes, collateral management, and the impact on other areas in the company.
  • Prior experience on workflow design and documentation preferred.
  • Skills / Other Personal Attributes Required :

  • Accurate and attention to detail.
  • Methodical but able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Self-starter with strong initiative.
  • Able to communicate and collaborate effectively with local and overseas teams, e.g. the UK, North America, Taipei, India etc.
  • as well as external parties, e.g. brokers, custodians, software application vendors etc.

  • Able to demonstrate knowledge use of business skills to integrate themselves within the team.
  • Excellent verbal (must be capable of communicating clearly and effectively to business partners, local and overseas team members) and written skills (including ability to produce process flow chart and requirement documents).
  • Able to work in a global, multicultural environment.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively build strong relationships with colleagues globally.
  • Good language skills in English and Chinese (Mandarin), both written and verbal.
  • Be prepared to challenge and solve problems and offer possible solutions.
  • Passionate about learning.
  • Incumbent is expected to work on RPA and process improvement initiatives, using new generation software applications and tools,
  • e.g. Blue Prism, Apian, Alteryx etc. Incumbent is also expected to acquire the knowledge of these applications / tools proactively.
  • Taking ownership to ensure high standard of output and deliverables.
  • Formal Education : (minimum requirement to perform job duties)

  • Degree holder or an equivalent working experience in securities settlement.
