    Position Purpose

    To ensure the stability of financial markets required for the real economy to grow, regulators are increasingly targeting at Banks to provide more comprehensive and more frequent information on their activity.

    As a privileged partner for the regulators, the Finance department sees its reporting process reinvented. The APAC Fresh Local regulatory reporting team, located at the junction of Finance and IT, is responsible for designing and maintaining quality regulatory solutions.

    At the heart of our investment in regulatory and business driven change, we are looking for a talented analyst developer who is passionate around resolving business problems through innovation and engineering practices.

    Key Responsibilities

    You will be involved in the development and improvement of our existing regional regulatory application covering lifecycles from design and development, through the implementation, documentation and maintenance.

    You will also be involved in the future platform transformation.

    System Enhancement and contribute to the efficiency of the delivered solution

  • Design and develop robust, performant software components to support regulatory reporting platform
  • Perform / support system testing (e.g. SIT & UAT)
  • Participate in code review & improvements, testing, support and training on new implementations
  • Write and / or review documentation (e.g. technical & function spec, user guide)
  • Perform process automation, data extraction and analysis for regulatory reporting
  • System Production Support

  • Provide assistant and level 3 support to end user and production support team for investigation and resolution of production incidents and operation issues.
  • Liaise with the related parties (e.g. IT, Operations, Front Office) to resolve the incident in a timely manner
  • Identify the root cause of the incident by applying sound error tracing technics
  • Assistance to project management

  • To ensure regular and efficient communication within the project team and to the stakeholders
  • Assist in coordinating the contributions from the various parties to ensure the planning is followed
  • Ensure escalations are made timely to avoid unnecessary time / budget slippage
  • Assist to put in place and maintain necessary documentation following standard projects governance
  • Specific Qualifications Required

    You will have extremely sharp technical skills, enjoy solving hard problems and experience in developing :

  • complex enterprise level large-scale strategic applications in Python and Java / C#
  • Web -based user interfaces
  • on both Linux and Windows based applications
  • Essential Knowledge / Skills :

  • Proficient in Python & core Java / C#, with solid understanding of object-oriented programming and good knowledge of its ecosystem.
  • Willingness to become proficient and develop in Python if not already a primary language.)

  • Proven experience in systems or data-warehouse development project on large-scale multi-region applications. Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms and enterprise architectures.
  • Solid understanding of database design, SQL / TSQL, data structure & data modelling with at least one major database technology (Oracle preferred) and best practices associated.
  • Familiarity with modern web technologies & stateless architecture. Experience on front-end building framework and tools such as RESTful API, JavaScript, CSS, Django / Tornado / FastAPI, Angular, TypeScript, React, Webpack, Node, npm etc.
  • Experience in report development on enterprise reporting platforms such as PowerBI, Crystal reports, Business Objects or Alteryx.
  • Good understanding of Agile development and testing framework such as TDD or BDD.
  • Hands-on experience on tools like Git, JIRA, Kubernetes, Docker, Sonar and Jenkins is a significant plus.
  • Strong practical performance tuning experience on large-scale financial system.
  • Hands-on experience with business requirements gathering / analysis.
  • Able to understand complex financial system architecture
  • Self-initiative and details oriented, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills in English (verbal / written) and interpersonal skills
  • Qualifications and Experiences :

  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Banking or Financial Industry, preferably Finance / Risk / IT area; more experience would be considered as senior role.
  • Other Preferred Competencies (not mandatory) :

  • PMP, Scrum Master or other related professional certificates
  • Experience with Basel or Regulatory / Financial reporting exposure (HKMA, MAS or other APAC regulators; Basel rules etc.).
  • Familiar with reporting markup language (such as XBRL, FPML).
  • Good knowledge of accounting function and accounting systems (ERP systems like SAP, General Ledger Sourcing) with a good understanding of accounting terms, processes, instruments and transactions.
  • Good understanding of general banking operations, applications and front to back framework
  • Project management skills demonstrated on large and complex project
  • Available for business travel
