We are currently looking for a Divisional Manager Research & Development to join our team in Hong Kong.

About This Role

  • Collaborate with customers, designers and merchant partners in identifying core, key, and novelty Denim Fabrics that meet the fabric strategy
  • Proactively work with customers' design and product development teams, and internally with PGs to set overall direction
  • Participate in presentations during the development of seasonal concepts
  • Research and stay abreast of denim fabric trends and technological developments
  • Build and update the fabric library while guiding the maintenance of the library and database
  • Identify key strategic denim fabric mills and suppliers from various geographic regions
  • Demonstrate good network to denim fabric traders, mills and provide alternatives to convert expensive denim fabrics for top brands into commercial denim fabrics
  • Evaluate existing and future material suppliers, with the use of performance reports on a quarterly basis, and to provide feedback to both customer and vendors regarding the performance and advise on corrective actions
  • Make recommendations to vendor management and assess the overall abilities / capabilities of all suppliers
  • Forge relationships with mills / vendors globally while developing and maintaining existing relationships through ongoing communication
  • Make market analysis and recommendations via presentations
  • Lead and manage the team to achieve business objectives
  • You might be a good fit if you have

  • Experience in Denim Fabric, Woven and Knit for US Market
  • Diploma or Degree in Clothing, Textile Merchandising or related discipline preferred
  • Minimum 10 years' relevant experience with at least 3 years in managerial level
  • Excellent product development, research and development experience, preferable gained from apparel industry with international trade exposure
  • Strong product and material knowledge (especially on Denim) with good development skills, and familiar with merchandising and product development process
  • Able to work under pressure, result oriented, excellent communication skills, self-motivated, responsive and detail minded
  • Ability to build strong relationships with the team as a good team leader, communicate effectively with internal and external parties
  • Strong problem-solving skills. Able to manage multiple tasks environment
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin
  • Literate in Microsoft office programs
  • Occasional travel is required
