Portfolio Management Director


Be responsible for driving the development anddelivery of key programmes from cradle to grave including engineering changes.

Work with business stakeholders on identifying, validating and implementingconcepts, define guidelines for stakeholder management and communication, andalign project outcomes with overall business and key stakeholder requirements.

Contribute directly to the overall organizationand business strategy both in terms of project delivery frameworks, governanceand interfaces with the other functional areas of the business.

Lead, manageand develop their team in its contribution to the achievement of the CTO’sobjectives and provide clear direction and support in the development anddelivery of its products.

Ensure progress is monitored, risks identified andappropriate mitigation against non-delivery is invoked. Create and manageprogramme plan gateways, functional milestones and deliverables, managingconstraints to ensure delivery to programme timing and budget with maximum effectiveness.

Role & Responsibilities :

Business Planning :

  • Facilitate the business planning cycle for various business units / operating companies
  • Define frameworks for performance evaluation
  • Measure and track performance via Balanced Scorecard
  • Strategy Review & Formulation :

  • Lead review and formulation of business strategies, vision, mission, core values
  • Act as sounding board to business leaders
  • Champion the use of strategic tools : scenario planning, portfolio optimization, stress test, etc
  • Strategic Projects : Lead or supportstrategic projects in areas such as

  • Performance improvement
  • Productivity improvement
  • Cost optimization
  • Market expansion
  • Restructuring
  • Corporate Initiatives : Championcompany-wide corporate initiatives in areas such as

  • Innovation
  • Growth & Diversification : Supportthe company’s growth through entry into new businesses

  • Identify opportunities for growth and efficiency
  • Lead business case development for the same
  • Qualifications

  • Degree holder
  • Experience in consulting, operations or strategic planning : Management consulting with a leading consultancy firm, OR Functional experience (sales, marketing, finance, product development) or P&L experience preferably in a multi-product line environment, OR Strategic planning in a reasonably large business
  • Visionary and Strategic thinking skills great at seeing patterns and connecting the dots
  • Business acumen quick to grasp underlying revenue, cost and profit drivers
  • Sound judgement based on a combination of observation, analysis and experience
  • Proactive and constructive style of engagement with business leaders
  • Excellent communication, especially listening, good influencing and relationship building skills
  • Fluent in English and Cantonese
