Who we're looking for
Feeding Hong Kong is looking for a finance manager to to oversee all finance, accounting and reporting activities of Feeding Hong Kong (FHK).
What you will be doing
To lead the day-to-day finance operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets management, month-end accounts reporting and grants administration;
To ensure systems and procedures are in place to support effective programme implementation and conduct audits;
To partner with senior leadership to enhance and better integrate finance and IT functions.
Manage all accounts, ledgers and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements;
Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs and programme budgets and actual expenditures;
Coordinate all audit activities and ensure records are compliant with requirements;
Analyse financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements;
monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership abreast of Feeding Hong Kong’s financial status;
Assist the Chief Executive Officer in the annual budgeting and planning process; administer and review all financial plans and compare to actual results with a view to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate;
Oversee all financial, project / programme and grants accounting, and ensure that expenditures are consistently aligned with grant and programme budgets throughout the grant / fund period;
collate financial reporting materials for government, corporate, and foundation grants;
Refine and update the financial policies and procedures manual;
Additional controller duties as necessary.
Assist with other activities of the organisation as required.
Be accountable and report to the Chief Executive Officer;
Supervise volunteers and interns when needed.
5 years of experience
Bachelor degree in finance, accounting
Bachelor degree in finance, accounting, business management or related field; CPA or CMA preferred;
Strong computer skills in a Microsoft Office environment.
Experience of :
Coordinating audit activities and managing reporting, budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll, and accounting for investments;
Developing or improving financial management systems;
Grants management as it relates to compliance and reporting of government, corporate and foundation grants.
Able to :
Work unsupervised and organise a demanding workload;
Juggle multiple priorities and to deliver under pressure;
Work accurately, paying close attention to detail;
Effectively analyse and communicate key data to senior management, the board of directors and other partners;
Speak and write fluent English and Chinese (Cantonese).
Knowledge of :
Accounting and reporting software, notably Xero and Salesforce.
