Position Overview

As a member of the APAC Global ER team, you will work in close partnership with HR Business Partners to deliver exceptional advice and counsel to business leaders and HR colleagues regarding employee issues and risk management across a number of subjects.

Areas of coverage will currently focus on China and other North Asia locations. However as an APAC ER Specialist, you will also acquire a broad understanding of the employment laws and practices across the 16 countries in the region.

ER Case Management

  • advise on ER matters across APAC, including grievances, investigations, disciplinary action, performance monitoring and negotiated departures
  • handle sensitive and / or complex ER matters directly or in conjunction with members of the APAC ER Team. This includes investigation of such ER matters.
  • Policies & Training

  • draft, review and maintain global, regional and local ER policies and processes
  • advise HR colleagues on HR policies
  • develop training materials and deliver interactive training sessions to HR colleagues, employees and managers on ER issues and employment law developments
  • ER Reporting / Metrics

  • analyze case data and identify ER trends
  • develop charts and presentations for various HR clients across the region
  • work with clients to address issues identified through reports
  • ER Projects

  • participate in various risk and control initiatives
  • support regulatory responses from an ER perspective
  • represent APAC on global harmonization efforts
  • work on ER aspects of transactions / off-shoring / RFPs
  • conduct organizational audits to identify ER issues
  • other ad-hoc work as needed
  • Partner & Clients

    Your clients will include individual employees, HR Business Partners and Business Managers; your partners will include HR, Legal, Compliance, Global Security Investigations and Audit

    Preferred Experience :

  • Previous experience with Employee Relations, HR Legal or Employment Law (Legal or strong HR background required)
  • Good knowledge of ER policies, practices and philosophy
  • Good Mandarin and Chinese language skills required
  • Ability to understand the business implications of decisions
  • Ability to respond appropriately to sensitive inquiries or complaints
  • Ability to build effective business partnerships with clients and local stakeholders
  • Ability to manage difficult client situations
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Good analytical skills to identify issues and trends and an ability to absorb detailed information quickly
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics
  • Strong influencing and problem solving skills
  • Results oriented : ability to drive change with positive, imaginative and flexible approach
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to operate in a matrixed environment
  • Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels from clerical employees to senior management
