Job Summary :

The Manager Central Operations is responsible for central operations functions; including Accounts operations, Transaction services (e.

g. payments, clearing, cash, etc) and Treasury Operations. The incumbent will also be responsible for ensuring proper and timely response to Local Regulators and Central Bank Circulars, ensure all bank policies and procedures and local regulatory authority’s instructions are followed.

Job Description :

  • Liaise with Group Operation / IT / business on operational matters / issues, as and when required
  • Assist in meeting units’ budget, controlling costs and achieving targeted levels of processing efficiency
  • Create Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for performance monitoring and quality measurement purposes for the Branch Operations department and monitor their achievement on periodic basis
  • Finalize Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal departments / units to achieve improvements in turnaround time (TAT) which will also help increase external customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain activities in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal departments / units to achieve improvements in turn-around time, with respect to corporate credit processing.
  • Coordinate the communication, implementation and monitoring of all central operational policy and procedures for the various Group processes to ensure compliance with relevant requirements including compliance with TOM (Target Operating Model) and to facilitate consistency in processing.
  • Continually assess the impact of processes and controls on the day to day operations of the branch to ensure an efficient environment and compliance with service standards.
  • Ensure smooth running of day-to-day work, including strict adherence to the policies and procedures and end of day balancing process.
  • Establish and monitor the system for review of inactive and dormant accounts (debit or credit).
  • Responsible for account opening / closing, and different types of account maintenance activities
  • Review documentation on all new deposit accounts to ensure proper procedures were followed and red flags were properly followed up and approved.
  • Review MIS reports with regard to Central Operations and prior to submission to Head of Centralised Operations, Country GM and other executive management.
  • Ensures accounts are opened / closed and account maintenance performed within the agreed TAT laid down in the SLAs.
  • Manage activities and any significant problems with account opening.
  • Check, verify and authorize transaction and documents in the system by ensuring all laid down procedures have been followed
  • Oversee any updates of the Market Price in the system for Fair Value exposure of the bank as per Central Bank Policy
  • Review any suspicious transactions and escalate where required
  • Job Requirements :

  • University graduate preferably with a Major in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or Information Technology (related field of study), Masters preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in the banking industry with special emphasis on branches and treasury operations.
  • Deep rooted understanding of banking operations, pertinent to a branch environment in particular.
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing in English, Country Local Language and Arabic (desired but not essential).
  • Effective communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
  • Ability to communicate in Chinese is an advantage.
  • Well-developed strategic perspective and forward planning ability.
  • Knowledge of the relevant regulatory requirements and best practices relating to branch operations.
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant KYC and other Anti-Money Laundering (AML) directives / rules and regulations and best practices.
