Overview :

The Senior Consultant Digital Design Integration (Product Manager) is responsible for the planning and execution of the work of the Development Team throughout a Project Lifecycle, including : gathering and prioritizing project and customer requirements, defining the project vision, and working closely with software engineers, digital consultants, project directors and digital integrators to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction goals are met.

Thsi role will be involved in major building and infrastructural projects with the aim of digitally improving their workflows so the teams can deliver better, faster and more.

A particular focus will be on delivering content on the Arup Total Design Automation platform. An in-house developed cloud-based platform that makes automated workflows available to all projects.

Furthermore, this successful incumbent will act as a change manager, which can involve the organisation / coordination of regional awareness and reinforcement events.

Responsibilities :

  • Lead the Digital Design Team scrum ceremonies
  • Understand the domain of the built environment
  • Embrace a lack of direct reporting authority and develop trusted relationships that break down silos’ across the business using communication, vision and influence
  • Guide funded concepts through the product lifecycle process (Triage, Seeding, Prototyping, Development and Commercialisation) using agile working methods, focusing a delivery team around sprints
  • Spend a significant portion of time engaged in outreach activities, bringing together stakeholders region-wide to help understand unmet user needs from multiple angles
  • Identify digital opportunities and drive forward the progress of them by activating the various stakeholders in the project
  • Define the digital implementation strategy and roadmap for major projects
  • Run beta and pilot programs with early-stage solutions and prototypes
  • Partner with internal project teams, learn their needs and support their business processes through the development of software tools and / or workflows restructure
  • Work in a fast-paced environment to take charge, define the solution and then deliver tools to automate tasks for those users
  • Identify recurrent problems and see opportunities for delivering generic solutions
  • Qualifications & Experience required :

  • Certification in Product Management (AIPMM, PMHQ, Coursera or comparable)
  • Bachelor’s degree with experience in Engineering, UX Design, Computer Science, Physics or Data Science, with strong interest in solving engineering problems for the built environment
  • At least 8 years of relevant working experience in Digital Product Management, including defining user needs, business value and roadmap planning, in which preferably some years of experience in a job in the built environment
  • Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products
  • Experience in parametric design and design automation will be an advantage
  • Knowledge about 3D modelling and BIM tools, such as AutoCAD, Rhino, Revit, Navisworks, Solibri or similar alternatives will be an advantage
  • Knowledge of Cloud hosting and deployment (AWS and Azure), PaaS and SaaS
  • Experience in coordinating a large number of stakeholders across multiple projects
  • Good team player and fast learner with passion and active drive to improve the design and construction industry
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority and manage teams
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese
