A financial services firm headquartered in the UK is looking for an Accountant to take on day-to-day responsibilities for financial processing and reporting for their broking business
Duties
The role of an Accountant takes on day-to-day responsibilities for financial processing and reporting for our broking business brands.
The person supports Assistant Financial Controller / Finance Manager to complete deliverables on a timely basis.
Manage staff expenses reimbursement and accounts payable claims by external vendors to be checked and verified against official records and invoices
Ensure these expenses are accurately booked and maintained in the accounting system - Oracle on monthly basis
Prepare bank reconciliations and to ensure cash and bank records are properly managed, reviewed and reconciled with bank statements and online records of the Hong Kong entity periodically
Deliver budgets and forecasts for Shanghai Representative Office as required
Ensure appropriate control over expenditure, applying the group's expenditure control framework and ensuring appropriate control over payments
Ensure fixed asset are properly recorded in Oracle
Ensure Intercompany transactions are recorded and reconciled
Handle general accounting duties
Assist in the external auditor on interim & annual audit, taxation matters for all entities
Cover the team members when they are on leave
Responsibility
An advanced degree in Finance / Accounting
Over 3 years relevant experience in Financial Accounting; Familiar with accounting principles
Hands-on experience in full set of accounts is an advantage
Hands-on knowledge on expense claims systems including Oracle iExpenses and Concur is an advantage
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially strong in Excel and PowerPoint
Mature, self-motivated and able to work independently
Strong business acumen with excellent communication and inter-personal skills
