Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm's books and records, and by contributing to Firm-

wide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley's various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community.

Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team.The Tax Department reports to the Deputy Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 200 employees worldwide.

The Tax Department is responsible for global tax compliance, tax accounting, business unit tax advice and tax planning for the Firm.

Core responsibilities will include : - Develop, lead, and execute the Firm's U.S. international planning program.- Prepare U.

S. legal tax analysis and income tax accounting impact of US tax rules impacting non-U.S. affiliates. - Liaise with external auditors with respect to tax provision analysis and disclosures.

  • Coordinate and communicate tax planning and capital management matters within the Firm.- Support the Firm's various business units by providing US tax advice on transactions, structuring, and business lines.
  • Work with members of the Morgan Stanley Tax Department on US tax issues impacting their local country entities and businesses in Asia.
  • Managing external advisors.
  • Qualifications

    Job Requirements- Thorough knowledge of U.S. international tax rules, research skills, and planning for a U.S. based multinational.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills, including the ability to simplify and communicate complex business information.
  • Strong teamwork and ability to partner and collaborate with colleagues across jurisdictions.- Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership / responsibility and ability to manage projects through completion.
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in tax or accounting and / or J.D. or LLM in tax.
