A Well Established EU buying office is looking to hire a Head of Sourcing for their Hong Kong office to lead the Electrical products sourcing and production operations.
The role will require you to lead a team of around 20 staff. You will report into the HQ in the EU. The goal is for you to build a strong sourcing strategy and operations across all sourcing and production countries in South East Asia, and to become the key partner to the team based in the HQ.
Responsibilities :
Build and develop suitable and effective sourcing strategies, both by vendor and country and region
Hands on approach towards planning and management
Build solid work relationships with internal and external stakeholders and vendors to provide effective and creative solutions to achieve business targets
Aggressively drive price negotiation and work closely with design and PD teams to discover potential cost saving ideas without damaging the quality and aesthetic of the styles
Regularly monitoring with HQ's teams on T&A, business and sourcing strategies
Ensure products are of high-quality standards set by the company
Review and evaluate vendor performance and manage them to configure improvement plans
Monitor compliance and sustainability levels of vendors to ensure ethical targets are achieved
Proactively lead sourcing in potential new sourcing regions or vendors including emerging markets in order to achieve competitive cost without compromising lead-time and quality
Manage P&L and budgeting to achieve corporate goals and targets
Lead, develop, and guide the team to achieve consistently high performance with good team morale
Qualifications :
Minimum of 15 years' experience in sourcing and product development with at least 5 years of senior management (Director or above) experience in a matrix organization
Extensive experience with developing global sourcing strategy with diversified country matrix, multiple foreign offices and risk profile analysis
Experience across Electrical products and distribution channels
Demonstrated strong verbal, written, analytical and negotiation skills
A high energy, roll-up-the-sleeves attitude with a positive approach to dealing with challenges
Attract, develop, and retain top level talent and demonstrated ability to motivate, develop and inspire a team
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business
Excellent command of written and spoken English, Mandarin and Cantonese a plus
Travel required
