Partnerships & Special Events Manager

We are seeking an innovative and connected individual to join us at our iconic 277-year-old brand and develop Brand Partnerships , oversee our Events and Sotheby’s Preferred program in Asia.

The role must be aligned with business priorities and will be guided by the Director for Marketing and Strategy for Asia.

Simultaneously, it must also be consistent with the wider brand marketing vision and respect best practice as determined by functional leads.

The ultimate goal is to create extraordinary experiences for Sotheby’s clients, tapping into cultural events and conversations and creating opportunities for brand partners.

It will generate partnership deals with best-in-class brands across various industries (i.e. luxury goods, real estate, technology, financial services, automotive, hospitality and travel) in Asia with a focus on Hong Kong, Mainland China and Singapore, to drive partnership revenue.

This position will also shape the Events and Preferred programming to support the sales calendar, underpin client cultivation and brand amplification initiatives.

This candidate knows how to not only lead boldly and strategically, but also collaborate insightfully and affably with different personalities and global brands.

With the confidence to forge meetings, initiate assignments, and close partnership deals, paired with the ability to find potential in hidden places, this individual ignites engagement and excitement with luxury brand partners.


  • Develop and execute partnership deals, pitches, and proposals; this includes drafting of partnership contracts, monitoring and working towards partnership marketing deadlines, overseeing partnership execution from beginning to end, and ownership of partnership invoicing
  • Identify the partnership package being offered and secure approved / pre-approved rights and benefits with internal local stakeholders
  • Acquire new partners (business development)
  • Compile partnerships report to quantify partner’s returns on investment and lead feedback / debrief meeting
  • Envisage new and creative scenarios to engage potential partners.
  • Proactively nurture and support each individual partnership client and expert through the contract detail, including explaining each legal clause stated in the contract of each partnership, working as a key player in the client team for all relationships.
  • Liaise closely with Sotheby’s Senior Management, local and international offices, Business / Client Development, Specialist departments, Legal, Special Events, and Marketing
  • Maintain organization and self-sufficiently organize travel arrangements and meetings, and report all travel and expenses

  • Managing existing and new museum partners, creating tailored proposals
  • Plan and execute Preferred events in Asia
  • Sourcing partners and creating partnership proposals for the Preferred Members’ Room
  • Liaising with Preferred Programme Co-ordinator providing content for editorial platforms around Asia activity
  • Work on Preferred Event summary and RM feedback for post-event analysis

  • Strategically plan, project manage and support execution of Events (such as Gallery and Sale Events, Auction Nights) working closely with Marketing, Experts, Client Strategy, Creative Services, Global Partnerships etc.
  • Manage all Internal and Client Communication for seamless experience, including travel, accommodation, and specific needs of each guest.
  • Building external supplier portfolio and managing relationships.
  • Oversee Evite Design & Mailing, including printed collateral.
  • Liaise with Client Strategy to strategically identify target client list.
  • Oversee all costs and manage quotations within budget

  • Qualifications

    Skills & Experience :

  • Extensive experience in partnership marketing and sales
  • Strong relationships in luxury goods, financial services and other industries listed above

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills English
  • Excellent client empathy and service skills
  • Highly organized with strong time management skills and detail oriented
  • Able to work independently to meet varied goals and strict deadlines

  • Good professionalism and discretion essential
  • Travel required
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent preferred
  • Languages : Cantonese and Mandarin preferred
  • Interest in the Arts world and market
