Department Profile :

The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm's books and records, and by contributing to firm-wide risk management and risk reduction.

This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley's various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community.

Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team.

The Role :

  • Provide financial insights to Senior Management, COOs and Business Managers
  • Support the Budget / Forecast process, oversee monthly financial close process and provide advice on accounting / financial aspects
  • Lead and support change initiatives (Agile, Integrated Planning initiatives, growth projects, etc)
  • Collaborate with partners across regions in Finance, Technology & Operations and Business units to manage cost and change.
  • Qualifications

  • Degree in Accounting / Finance / Business
  • Management reporting experience and strong background in finance.
  • Relevant Technology and Operations exposure or cost management experience within a fast-paced banking environment would be advantageous (examples, project cost tracking, capital expenses, cost allocation principles / methodologies, Agile)
  • Candidate with 8-10 years of experience, ideally with at least 3 years in banking and / or non-banking environment with proven IT Finance or cost management experience
  • Team player
  • Ability to communicate to and build up relationships with internal clients and global counterparts
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, resilient and consistent high performer
  • Proactive thinker, ability to challenge and provide solutions
