Chinese markets are of increasing importance to our global clients and this role will intensify our focus on China, adding to our competitive advantage.

The relationship manager will support the China Corp Head in being the central client contact. Orchestrating local delivery and execution of the banks broad spectrum of products and services.

  • Manage and grow a client portfolio, protecting existing revenue streams and building strong new client relationships
  • Support China Corp team on more complex client transactions, developing innovative solutions to meet specific client needs
  • Network with / leverage on local influencers in the region and China to generate leads and originate new business opportunities across the whole ICG suite of products
  • Understand the dynamics of the local financial markets, banking industry and regulations and their impact on our clients
  • Macro-market knowledge : know the players, size of the market, market share and other financial indicators
  • Learn about the competition and be able to act as an advisor on all matters concerning doing business in China and Hong Kong providing critical input to win transactions
  • Support on the EUDD credit approval and legal documentation negotiation / preparation to ensure efficient execution of credit deals
  • Qualifications

  • BA or business undergraduate degree advantageous
  • Cross border relationship coverage experience within banking or a financial services organization
  • Understanding of banking products : loans, FX, derivatives, cash management, trade
  • Knowledge of corporate and structured finance products
  • Self-motivated, highly ambitious and goal-oriented
  • Ability to work within a matrix organization and partner effectively with product partners and banking colleagues
  • Strong presentation, communication and interpersonal skills to work on complex transactions and their implementation
  • Analytical skills : assimilating new information quickly and relating it to the needs of the clients
  • Quick learner and has the ability to apply new products or services quickly and effectively
  • Fluent mandarin speaking would be mandatory
  • Proactive, success and results-oriented
