We’re looking for a Legal Sales Consultant who will be responsible for growing Thomson Reuters Legal business by supporting sales of legal solutions to existing and new customers across South East Asia with a particular focus on Greater China.

Role Purpose :

  • The Legal Sales Consultant provides product expertise and knowledge during the Sales Cycle to accelerate the opportunity from Needs Analysis’ phase to Generate Contract’ phase by supporting the Territory Managers within the Corporate teams.
  • In particular, the Legal Sales Consultant will support the customer through provision of training and operational support relating to Legal Tracker to drive the sales through the Trial / Demo / Solution Recommended’ phase.
  • The successful candidate will typically have between 6-8+ years’ total industry experience with a proven track record in selling or supporting solutions in the various markets, such as legal, tax systems or financial and risk business.
  • Main responsibilities :

  • Engage in pre-sales activities, conducting demonstrations, providing advice and delivering product expertise during the sales cycle.
  • Work closely with the Corporate Account Management team to source prospective clients within their territory and secure introductions and initial meetings.
  • Respond quickly to new leads working with urgency to progress deals through the sales cycle.
  • Provide support and advice to both existing and trial customers.
  • Understand customer requirements / needs and find the best solution within Thomson Reuters Services capability to develop a suitable and strong proposal which can create difference from competitors.
  • Keep up to date with news and changes in policy, regulations and activities of major players in the industry to have sufficient domain knowledge to lead discussion with customers and present expertise in public.
  • Use CRM system to maintain customer and opportunity data with discipline to enhance customer insight and ensure accurate forecasting.
  • Assist in key retention situations, bringing domain expertise relevant to the customer as agreed with the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Act as an advocate for customer needs to the business and product team.
  • Represent the company at industry events in thought leadership capacity.
  • Required experience :

  • 6-8+ years of legal, sales or market experience.
  • Qualification / Education :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law or legal related background.
  • High level of proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Fluent English, Mandarin an advantage.
  • Key competencies and skills :

  • Creative thinker and ability to generate new ideas.
  • Ability to engage with internal stakeholders particularly the Account Managers and the Territory Managers.
  • Strong presentations skills (both verbal & written).
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Thought leader in chosen area of domain expertise.
