Head of Solution Delivery, Chief Technology Office


This position is responsible for providingleadership on applications and support of ongoing project initiatives for theOrganisation.

This role is instrumentalin managing and executing integrated internal and vendor technology solutionsand proposing strategic roadmaps.

Leads the IT project managers team and actsas a key business partner for the technical delivery of projects for theOrganisation.

Provides strategy,technology leadership and managing project execution.

Support and coach your team using your technical knowledge andexperience to drive best practice and ensure capability is optimised.

Leadership :

  • Experienced solution deliveryleader with a focus on innovation and creativity
  • Direct complex projects affectingmultiple functions or businesses
  • Serve as a dedicated resourceworking directly with senior division leaders and staff to support the solutiondelivery.
  • Partner with the business units; understand thestrategy and driver to make sure that solutions meet the requirements.
  • Build strong relationships toenhance collaboration between the Solution Delivery team and divisional staff
  • Engage people and develop themthrough team work and a high level of participation
  • Assess change readiness andprepare plans for helping stakeholders through change
  • Drive for high quality,actionable results
  • Solution Delivery :

  • Anticipate and collaborate inproposing technology capabilities in support of the business strategicroadmaps. Creates the supportingtechnology strategy.
  • Provide assistance withevaluating business projects and proposing and sizing the related technologybuilds and integrations.
  • Direct the execution oftechnology solutions that deliver client value and lasting business impact,including delivering the benefits outlined in the business case.
  • Ensure that development is highlystrategic and focuses on maintaining the reliability and functionalityessential to internal / external stakeholders.
  • Counsel on design andarchitecture, internal development or outsourcing and overall life cycle andimplementation activities for a wide range of applications and services.
  • Create transparency into the PMOand ongoing production support capital and operating expenses and budgets.
  • Adopt and executes standards asestablished through business and enterprise architecture.
  • Drive delivery of new technologyinitiatives through combination of outsourced software implementation andinternal services integration and / or development.
  • Direct and coordinates thedelivery of multiple projects from idea to implementation.
  • Proactively leads the team andvendors to deliver high quality products with minimal defects.
  • Partner with the PMO tocontribute best practices and transform the organisations software developmentcapabilities.
  • Oversee the development anddeployment of IT project delivery methodology and templates based upon bestpractise for both IT BA and Technical.
  • Oversee the development of the ITplans and budgets in relation to project delivery, ensuring transparency.
  • Financial Management :

  • Partner with Finance to developand track project metrics
  • Monitor performance andimprovement in key metrics
  • Deliver operationalimprovement and financial benefits to meet or exceed annual targets
  • Qualifications

  • Typicallyrequire a tertiary qualification in an IT discipline or related field
  • Minimum of7-10 years of proven IT leadership and software delivery experience in thefinancial services industry
  • Deepunderstanding of the Solution Delivery landscape, including deliverymethodologies of Agile and SDLC
  • Ability tomake insightful, successful decisions
  • Competentdelivering results through ownership & drive
  • Provenability to lead, motivate and develop a team
  • Exposure totransformational change within a business
  • The abilityto think creatively and ensure solutions meet stakeholder needs and are fit forpurpose.
  • Experience developingdigital solutions across mobile, web and tablet
  • The abilityto manage multiple tasks, work to tight deadlines and monitor team members’targets and KPIs
  • Proficientin MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Ability tolead the work of others
