Entry Requirements :

Candidates should have

  • a) a bachelor degree from a university in Hong Kong, or equivalent, preferably in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Translation, or other related disciplines;
  • b) at least eleven years’ full-time post-graduate working experience in corporate communications, public relations, advertising or social media marketing preferably relating to the cultural business, including management of website and social media, and copywriting in a sizable organisation, with the use of mobile applications, interactive, digital and / or social media platforms see Note (1) ;
  • c) attained Level 3 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent see Note (2) ;
  • d) proficiency in software applications including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of software applications and experience in graphic / media design and editing are considered as an advantage; and

    e) proficiency in both written and spoken Chinese (Cantonese) and English see Note (3) , and possessing good presentation and interpersonal skills.

    Note :

    1) Candidates are requested to indicate in the section under Full Employment Record to date on the application form G.F.

    340 (Rev. 3 / 2013) details of their relevant working experience in corporate communications, public relations, advertising, website management or social media marketing and provide documentary proof.

    Candidates failed to provide documentary proof will not be considered as having the working experience indicated on the form.

    2) Grade C in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to Level 3 in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.

    3) Candidates will be required to pass a language test. Duties :

  • A Contract Senior Media Coordinator will mainly be deployed in fields of news and publicity. Duties include formulating publicity strategies and plans;
  • writing and editing news / publicity materials for dissemination through the Information Services Department, other platforms and social media;
  • establishing good relationship with the media and managing website content with the aim to promote LCSD’s image, events and programmes;
  • keeping track of views expressed through the mass media to ensure the department stays abreast of the public’s opinion to its services;
  • working closely with agencies engaged for executing LCSD’s promotion strategies and monitoring their performances, including but not limited to the design, production and quality of promotional materials in building the department’s image and other promotional activities;
  • supervising subordinate(s) assisting in execution of the above duties; and performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

    Note : Appointee(s) may be required to work irregular hours including Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays.) Terms of Appointment :

    Successful candidate(s) will be appointed on one-year non-civil service contract terms. Fringe Benefits :

    An end-of-contract gratuity may be granted to the appointee upon satisfactory completion of the contract with a consistently high standard of performance and conduct.

    Such gratuity, plus the Government’s contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme in respect of the appointee as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, will be equal to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.

    Rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), annual leave, maternity / paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.
