The appointee will provide support to the Function Hub of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) (HKUST (GZ)).

Major responsibilities include but are not limited to the following :

Job duties :

Conduct basic training in the use of laboratory instruments / facilities to users and ensure smooth operations in support of teaching and research;

Prepare laboratories for course / research and maintain the upkeep of communal equipment, required license and experimental material supplies;

Assist in monitoring laboratorial safety and access control in compliance with the University’s regulations; conduct safety training to all individual in the laboratories; and

Provide support in experiments, research projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements :

A bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering or a related field of Science preferred;

At least 3 years’ working experience in laboratory support / research roles; preferably with experience in a university setting;

Able to multi-task, detail-minded with good communication skills;

Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua); and

Proficiency in MS Office.

Terms of Appointment

This is a Mainland appointment and the appointee will be offered a contract by the HKUST Mainland entity in accordance with the local labor laws and regulations.

Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract, renewable on mutual agreement.
