Assist East Asia (EA) Region Research & Development (R&D) Director in driving research and innovation work in EA Region
Work with various stakeholders in managing and conducting research on issues related to sustainability and global trends
Facilitate research idea generation, publish research works / reports to facilitate brand building and creation of new business for the company
Connect and maintain close relationship with relevant experts and technology companies to maintain an effective innovation ecosystem
Coordinate with internal stakeholders to identify research needs and liaise with counterparts from other Arup offices on firmwide research issues
Develop strategies and action plans to promote creativity and innovation in the company
Manage internal research portfolio, including reviewing research proposals, monitoring project progress and disseminating the research results
Perform other relevant duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience required :
Master’s / Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline
At least 8 years of working experience in research on sustainability and global trends, among which at least 4 years of experience focused on writing technical reports to facilitate the formulation of strategies and policies, as well as provision of advice based on research conduct
Relevant experience in performing research in the construction / engineering industry will be a distinct advantage
Relevant experience in research collaboration with private companies, government departments and think-tanks
Good experience in managing research projects and application of external research funding both in Hong Kong and overseas
With good connection with technology providing organizations, start-ups and funding bodies especially in mainland China
Strong analytical skills and genuine interest on creativity and innovation
Excellent spoken and written English and Chinese with ability to communicate effectively with all levels of managerial and operational staff
Candidates with less experience will be considered for the position of Assistant Manager Research.
