GENERAL SUMMARY

As part of the DTC team at WD, Be the centre of excellence on marketplace, retail and consumer reality.

Responsible to drive Retail Allocation plans that reflect business needs, new opportunities and financial goals.

Creates the retail vision together with the Regional Product Merchandising / Retail Buying and Planning, Country Business Units

Apply extensive product, commercial and retail knowledge to build an open and constant relation with the regional teams,

Accountable for the strategic Category Allocation plan

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO :

  • Lead the Merchandise Analyst to develop the allocation plan that aligns with the buy and product flow strategies for each season
  • Oversee the monitoring of store stock levels and sales trends through reporting and analytics by the allocation team
  • Review the initial replenishment levels (aka target stock) in the ERP system
  • Working with Ops Planning & Forecasting to understand inventory status issues (overstocks, late deliveries, short shipments) and the impact
  • Informing Retail Buyers and Retail Planners as needed on inventory issues
  • Understanding seasonal marketing initiatives to ensure accurate inventory allocation
  • Communicating with Retail Operations on inventory and replenishment adjustments, inventory concerns, and any other information that impacts store operations
  • Trouble-shooting and resolving allocation issues in a timely manner
  • Supporting the development of the merchandise financial plan, door plan and in-season management (open-to-buy) plans
  • Reviewing promotional results and recommend promotion / markdown tactics
  • Providing feedback on allocation, store level performance and opportunities
  • Participate in store visits (internal) and competitor market visits (external) to understand retail trends and consumer needs.
  • Develop and Coach the merchandise analyst and allocators

    QUALIFICATIONS

    The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and / or abilities required for the individual to be successful in this position.

  • Minimum Relevant Experience : minimum 7 years with relevant experience
  • Minimum Supervisory Experience : 3-4 years with supervisory experience
  • Nature of Work : Retail Industry
  • Strong analytical skills and attention-to-detail
  • Ability to analyse and interpret a high amount of data and identify the implications and required actions
  • Retail and product expertise in key markets within Asia with apparel / fashion trend experience
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to identify actions and make decisions to resolve issues with a sense of urgency
  • Advanced working knowledge in MS Excel
  • Advanced skills in numerical and quantitative analysis
  • Retail and product knowledge in the key markets within Asia
  • Ability to identify fashion trends
  • Strong organization and planning skills; ability to deliver results to a process and timeline
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to turn data and analytics into information to inform and influence decision-making
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration with cross functional teams
  • Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of employees both senior and junior
  • Experience in SAP and retail planning / Allocation software preferred
  • Flexibility to changing trends, business process and systems
