Among various duties of the External Affairs Department (EA), one of the key roles is to act as a bridge between the Club and relevant external stakeholders through developing and maintaining amicable working relationships with them.
EA is responsible for strategizing and implementing overall stakeholder engagement strategies / planning to support the Club’s business operations and achieve business objectives as well as other critical issues at both but not limited to District Council and Legislative Council levels.
EA also formulates plans and strategies in supporting business departments of the Club by managing regulatory matters pertaining to the Club’s overall operation.
It also oversees the Club’s Responsible Gambling Policy and practices to ensure that they are on par with international best practices;
and is responsible for raising public awareness on the Club’s efforts in this area. Organization of social / community service programmes is also a key responsibility of EA.
You will :
monitor latest development of current affairs, public policies and social issues relating to the Club’s business and interests;
collect information and data on public policies, conduct policy analyses, desktop research, draft various kinds of briefs, correspondences, reports, meeting minutes and presentation materials;
provide logistical support in organising stakeholder engagement activities including visit programmes, raceday guest invitations and business meetings, etc.;
support and participate in stakeholder engagement activities, build network and maintain liaison with an aim to foster cordial relationship with external stakeholders;
maintain stakeholder profiles, engagement and sponsorship records, and related database information;
assess and oversee the execution of sponsored projects; and
perform general administrative duties and other duties assigned by supervisors.
You should have :
A recognised university degree in public administration, public / social policy, social / political sciences, translations, communications or related discipline and relevant qualifications and solid experience in cultivating and maintaining community relationships;
Minimum of two year’s full-time experience in government departments, public and statutory bodies, community relations or / and journalism with solid experience in public affairs, community and stakeholders engagement is a definite advantage;
Proven record of communication network with local organizations at district level, such as government departments, District Councils, Rural Committees, political parties and NGOs;
Experience in project management and execution of community programmes for different target groups;
Strong political acumen, public affairs and media sense, and inter-personal and social skills; being sensitive to social and political climate;
Accounting and resources management experience; able to work under pressure with tight timeline;
High level of proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese, proficiency in Putonghua will be an advantage.
Terms of Employment
The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualification and experience. A contract employment will be offered to the successful candidate.
Contract renewal will be subject to mutual agreement between the Club and the selected candidate.
