The Office of Knowledge Transfer (OKT) at the University is seeking an appointee for the position of Assistant Manager. The appointee will be a member of the task force responsible for programs to foster KT endeavours of HKUST-BDR Joint Research Institute (HBJRI) and HKUST-Kaisa Joint Research Institute (HKJRI).

Reporting to the Associate Vice-President for Knowledge Transfer (AVP-KT), the appointee will have the following major responsibilities :

  • Organize industry partner engagement events such as Frontier Technology Seminars, visits and study missions, workshops for innovation leadership and other activities that foster entrepreneurship spirit;
  • Supervise BDR and Kaisa student interns and coordinate student engagement activities;
  • Support the strategic planning, implementation, and governance of KT operations;
  • Engage stakeholders synergistically for the execution of KT endeavours such as innovation building, autonomous driving trial and others;
  • Engage industry partners, set up collaboration framework, launch project funds and organize programs to foster KT endeavours;
  • Provide secretariat services to various committees and meetings; and
  • Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time.
  • Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree preferably in science and engineering with at least 3 years of relevant post-qualification working experience.

    Previous experience in project management, student affairs, organization of campus events and / or research projects in an education institution will be an advantage.

    Preference will also be given to candidates with solid experience and familiarity with the university’s setting and operation.

    They must have an excellent command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua). The ideal candidate should be mature and self-motivated who can deal with people from diverse cultures.

    Good communication and interpersonal skills, and good computer knowledge are required. Ad-hoc travels to Greater Bay Area may be required. (Duration : 1 year)
