Position Overview

The APAC Connectivity team covers both market connectivity and client connectivity platforms across Asia markets. You will collaborate with Client On-

boarding team in providing best-in-class platform and services to our clients. The team is multi-faceted in nature and involves daily interaction with business stakeholders both regionally and globally.

We are currently seeking an experienced Java developer to manage and deliver projects driven from Business, Clients, or Exchanges.

The role involves leading development efforts in addition to supporting wider initiatives to modernise and increase agility and automation within our development cycle.

Technical Role Requirements - Essential :

  • A minimum of 4-8 years’ core Java experience including understanding of fundamental concepts such as garbage collection, concurrency and performance profiling techniques
  • A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience with relational database platforms and concepts ideally with performance tuning and schema design experience
  • UNIX / Linux experience including scripting and understanding fundamental UNIX environmental concepts
  • Must be able to work well within a dynamic environment and be prepared to go the extra mile when needed to ensure projects are delivered on time with a high degree of quality
  • Good communication is essential and the candidate should be comfortable communicating with people at all levels of the organisation
  • Must be a self-starter able to work equally on their own initiative and also as part of the wider team
  • Ability to be able balance and manage demand from competing stakeholders
  • Role Requirements - Desirable :

  • Prior experience on client or market connectivity
  • Prior Experience developing UI in C# and using WPF
  • Prior experience within Investment Banking or Equities technology
  • Technical Skills

  • Programming languages : Java (essential), C# (optional)
  • Database : Oracle (desirable)
  • Platform : Unix (Linux)
  • Experience in application development of Market- or Client Connectivity Platforms Order Management Platforms Low-latency Platforms Trading UI
  • Business Acumen

  • Good understanding of Equity Trading Business
  • Good understanding of the Asian Equity markets, including Hong Kong, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, China, India, Japan and Australia
  • Multi-asset class experience is a plus (e.g. derivatives)
