Applicants should have (i) a BSc degree or above in Biomedical Sciences or related discipline; (ii) at least one year of experience in conducting animal studies;
iii) skills in cell culture and molecular biology techniques; (iv) the ability to work independently; (v) self-motivation, a well-organised, cooperative and responsible work attitude;
vi) willingness to learn new things; and (vii) good communication skills in Chinese and English. Practical experience in flow cytometry cell sorting and mass spectrometry is preferred.
Duties include (a) working under the Institute's Director and his management team to provide assistance in the daily operation of the Core Laboratory and communal facilities of the Institute which will house about 30 research groups with over 400 members when in full-fledged operation;
b) providing core services to research teams; (c) providing assistance in the daily operations and housekeeping of the Animal Facility, Tissue Culture Room and Core Laboratory;
d) booking arrangement and maintenance of the facility and its equipment; (e) maintenance of inventory; (f) performing outside-office-hours tasks for attending urgent matters of the concerned facilities when necessary;
and (g) any other duties as assigned by the supervisor as appropriate.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one year commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to mutual agreement.
