Our Legal Services Department provides legal support to all business units of the Club and associated companies. The Club’s diverse business operations require the legal team to help the business units deal with complex matters by identifying risks and complications, guiding the business units around those obstacles whilst preserving the Club’s reputation and integrity.
Be the go-to person providing legal support to our People and Organisational Development Division and other stakeholders on a broad range of employment-related matters, including drafting and advising on contracts and other legal documents, internal policies, processes and guidelines, advising on employment matters and issues including benefits and rewards, retirement schemes, discrimination and work injury cases, and providing legal support for handling and management of labour disputes;
Provide legal advice and support to other business partners as assigned by Senior Legal Counsel in relation to their operation and projects, including drafting and advising on contracts and other legal documents, reviewing and advising on marketing materials and other commercial documents, and advising on legal issues arising from business operations;
Provide legal support for disputes, litigation, regulatory and other contentious matters involving the Club and its associated companies and manage internal reporting;
Provide timely, clear and practical advice and solutions that enable business partners to achieve their objectives while mitigating legal risk and balancing the interests of all stakeholders;
Monitor legal and regulatory developments in relation to the operations of the Club, analyse legal implications (including any changes necessary to current operations, policies and procedures), provide updates and trainings on such developments to business partners;
Manage engagement of counsel to ensure that high quality, efficient and cost effective external legal service is obtained.
have a law degree in Hong Kong or any major common law jurisdiction, and the post-graduate certificate in laws (PCLL) in Hong Kong;
be a qualified solicitor in Hong Kong with at least 10 years’ post qualification experience;
have solid experience in dispute resolution / litigation matters or general commercial matters with a focus on employment matters gained from an international law firm or in house position in a major corporation.
In-house experience is preferred ;
have good knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
have strong commercial acumen with a solution-driven approach, and be able to provide practical advice and solutions with sensitivity and alertness to wider political and practical issues relating to the Club and its operations and balancing the interests of all stakeholders;
have strong communication and interpersonal skills and able to liaise effectively with internal clients at all levels;
be able to work independently;
have excellent command of both English and Chinese languages (Cantonese and Mandarin), with the ability to communicate effectively and draft documents in both languages.
Terms of Employment
The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
