We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Lead Infrastructure Architect .
Determine business requirement and influence solution towards the agreed standards and future state model
Ensure logical design contributes to technology objectives
Examine potential demise opportunities and propose deployment options
Consider service placement requirements
Ensuring end to end completeness of technical design, including Non Functional Requirements realised and validated
Verify impact to adjacent services, systems and validate deployment and support model
Qualify technical acceptance of all components
Review design and gain approval via Solutions Architecture Board
Finalised commercials and approval
Have an understanding of banking industry. Able to translate business needs into appropriate IT solutions.
Have a system engineering background and the ability to compare and contrast different solutions to meet a business requirement.
Proven experience and in depth knowledge of the HSBC IT Architecture function.
Provide technical thought leadership in evaluation of new technologies to meet business requirements and influence key stakeholders leading to adoption.
Have in depth conceptual functional and non functional knowledge of Networking such as Cisco, TCP, UDP, Broadcast, Multicast, LAN, WAN.
Server Operating systems internals, benchmarking and performance tuning such as Linux, Windows, Solaris. CPU Microarchitectures such as Intel, AMD, SPARC and Server Virtulization such as VMware, Xen, HyperV, KVM.
Storage such as EMC SAN - FC, FCoE, iSCSI, SRDF, NetApp NAS - CIFS, NFS. Databases such as Oracle and MS SQL, VCS and MSCS.
Additional beneficial experience including Databases such as Oracle RAC, Sybase, Apache Hadoop and Hbase. Middleware and Grid such as IBM MQ and Platform, Tibco RV and Datasynapse.
In Memory Distributed Data Grid such as Oracle Coherence. Web applications servers such as Apache HTTP Server and Tomcat, IIS, Websphere.
End to end agile infrastructure architecture across all layers
Java, Java GUI, XML, XSLT, HTML, Java Script
Passion for technology and understanding how things work
A track record of delivering significant change, which improves business effectiveness in sustainable ways
Excellent written and spoken communication skills with experience of successfully influencing others
Experience of working with GBM, ideally with HSS solutions
