The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 3,000 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm's books and records, and by contributing to Firmwide risk management and risk reduction.
The division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley's various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community.
Finance plays a critical role as advisor to the Firm?s various businesses and its senior management team.
The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Team partners with the Business, including : CFO, Regional CEOs and Senior Management team in implementing Regional Agendas.
The Team works closely with internal finance teams to develop key critical financial analysis that supports Senior Management on strategic planning and business decisions.
The scope of the reporting covers Revenue Reporting, Expense Management, Profitability analysis, Budgeting & Planning and Strategic Analysis.
Responsibilities include :
Provide timely, accurate and insightful analytical support in Revenue and Expense reporting for Equity Business across Asia region to facilitate business decisions.
Working with Regional and Local teams to ensure that the information is sufficiently robust for decision-making purposes.
Partner with the key stakeholders, to identify the spending trend and patterns, potential savings / accrual needed and area of potential spending to align with and achieve the Equities Division strategic goals.
Provide monthly expense reports to COO Office and address any queries.
Review, revise and maintain internal cost charge / recovery mechanism across Equities businesses
Maintain and control the use of cost centres and cost ledger to ensure all costs are properly classified and booked
Understand the overall workflow and process for the assigned tasks and well plan the reporting schedule to ensure on time delivery
Identify areas to improve efficiency and quality in reporting : including planning and implementing necessary changes and enhancements
Engagement in various cross-divisional / region projects and ad-hoc projects and assisting in queries from stakeholders
At least 6 years of experience in Accounting and Finance related fields who are technologically savvy.
University graduated in Finance, Economics , Accounting or relevant disciplines
Self-starter with ability to work autonomously and under pressure, detail-oriented, willing to take ownership and accountability.
Able to cope in a fast paced and dynamic work environment, strong problem solving skills and with the mindset of continuous improvement and aiming for excellence.
Able to multi-task effectively and manage deadlines
Excellent Microsoft Excel and VBA skills with the ability to navigate and work on complicated spreadsheets.
Strong stakeholder management capabilities, including experience managing senior stakeholders
Team Player with strong communication skills is essential for collaboration across different MS teams & divisions
Experience in Tableau / IBM Cognos Analytics is preferred but not required.
