  • Develop and maintain color standards and tools to communicate color & fabric development to internal and external partners.
  • Create, organize, and maintain complete and accurate color library.
  • Ensure consistent color standards and integrity across fabrics and products internally & globally. Facilitate color customization efforts when needed.
  • Collaborate with fabric R&D, Product Development, Sourcing, Quality & regional sourcing hubs to establish standards and meet calendar deadlines SMS through production.
  • Manage incoming color submits. Assess pass / fail on incoming colors to ensure color consistency; visually (light box) and electronically (spectrophotometer) from multiple sources and across different product categories in a timely manner.
  • Communicate to all suppliers our color and fabric approval process and our expectations.
  • Update the current color & fabric manual as required.
  • Maintain equipment within the color lab; spectrophotometer and light box, including daily and monthly calibration exercises.
  • Implement color lab software upgrades and administers annual correlation tests with selected vendors.

  • Enable speed in the production approval process, seeking efficiency and time savings opportunity, inclusive of implementing new technology to advance the brand’s color & fabric process.
  • Work with mills, testing labs and Product Development to oversee quality of all bulk materials inclusive of but not limited to construction, finishing, hand feel, color, print and fiber content.
  • Lead raw material risk assessment processes and troubleshooting of fabric related issues.
  • Manage the performance of colorists & technologists to ensure they carry out their roles in an effective and timely manner.
  • Develop and manage KPI’s to evaluate performance of all strategic Raw Materials suppliers.
  • Provide input to global Raw Materials sourcing strategy.
  • Requirements

  • Form 5 or above.
  • 10+ years of experience in the Textile industry with strong understanding of fabric substrates, knowledge of color / dying process.
  • Must score superior on Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Hue Color Test.
  • Must be able to identify issues and analyze relevant data to determine course of action and generate solutions.
  • Strong team player.
  • Work in fast-paced, constantly changing, and deadline-process-driven environment with extremely time-sensitive procedures.
  • Understanding of Quality Control.
  • Domestic and International travel as required including visits to Distribution Centers and Sourcing hubs as needed.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and follow up skills.
  • Strong PC skills in MS Office and PLM.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
