The Associate Director (AD) will develop in-depth knowledge of Fitch’s approach to ESG and work with internal and external data sets to support development of Fitch’s ESG franchise both internally with the analytical groups and externally with investors.
The AD will work with other team members to further develop and refine Fitch’s approach to ESG analysis, knowledge acquisition and integration of ESG into Fitch analytical processes.
The AD will initially support and then may lead the relationship with, a specific analytical group area depending on their qualifications and experience. Specifically :
Liaise with analysts to respond to queries and issues related to understanding market and regulatory developments on ESG from a credit perspective.
Champion the visibility and awareness of ESG with analytical groups.
Develop knowledge of key ESG topics related to different asset classes, apply this knowledge to refining Fitch’s current ESG scoring framework in conjunction with analytical ESG champions, and then disseminate it internally to sector analysts.
Provide analytical insight to market constituents, including investors, issuers, bankers and members of the media, regarding the agency’s analytical views on ESG and general market trends.
Support credit analysts in other analytical groups on understanding ESG issues, data and trends.

Qualifications and Experience :
Over four years’ experience in credit / finance / ESG analysis, is essential. Candidates with a strong academic background in ESG will also be considered.
Previous experience in undertaking credit analysis is desirable.
Demonstrable knowledge of ESG themes, particularly climate change and other environmental themes, would be a significant advantage.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
Excellent communicator both verbally and in writing
Ability to meet tight deadlines
Ability to work well independently in an international environment as well as in a small team, is essential
Some travel may be required.
