We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our department as Senior Asset Liability Management Manager.
Principal responsibilities
Assist the CIO in asset liability management, particularly in relation to investment strategy formulation to allow HSIC management to better take on future market and regulatory challenges, allow for more flexibility and optimize shareholder / policyholder benefits, and review asset allocation upon new Risk Based Capital ( RBC ) and IFRS17 requirements
Lead the Fund Restructure Project and manage the segregation of L&A Funds as well as other funds into different new portfolios
Recommend and implement appropriate investment strategies; Contribute to asset liability management for all HSIC’s shareholders and policyholders funds, in particular in the development and review of Strategic Asset Allocation and Target Asset Allocation to optimize the risk / return profile
Build and maintain a sound investment risk framework for all investment risks and ensure corporate governance standards are met
Manage the processes, infrastructure and resources needed to deliver agreed team plans and targets, identifying and implementing improvements and collaborating with colleagues to maximise end to end integration, effectiveness and efficiency
Lead and encourage constructive cross-country and cross-business teamwork by demonstrating collaboration and matrix management in action and challenging actions and behaviours that are not consistent with HSBC's diversity policy and / or the best interests of the business and its customers
Keep abreast of global developments in the capital and insurance market and changes in regulatory, actuarial and accounting regime, particularly in relation to insurance investment management
Qualifications
University degree holder preferably in Business Administration, Actuarial, Finance, Accounting, or related discipline
Minimum 8 years of industry experience; Practical experience of investment & ALM in an insurance context an advantage
Strong investment knowledge; CFA / Fellow of a recognized actuarial organization an advantage
Strong analytical, quantitative and problem solving skills with ability to think outside the box and conceptualize solutions to complex issues;
Practical experience using Excel, VBA and stochastic modeling techniques an advantage
Excellent communication skills; Innovative and strategic thinker, results oriented
Proficiency in both English and Chinese
Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes
