Part-time Research Assistant(s)

  • Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor's degree or above in Psychology, Nursing, Social Work, or a health-related discipline;
  • ii) at least two years' post-degree relevant work experience in counselling; (iii) the ability to work independently; (iv) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese;
  • and (v) a good knowledge of MS Office applications. Candidates with good practical skills in mindfulness, counselling psychology, educational psychology;
  • and / or work experience in providing psychological support to parents of children with special needs are preferred. The appointee(s), carrying a job title of Interventionist’, will provide psychological support using acceptance and mindfulness-based approaches to parents of children with special educational needs, under supervision by the Principal Investigator.

  • He / She will (a) organise and deliver training and workshops to health care professionals; (b) develop treatment manual of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for parents;
  • c) assist in planning and implementing public education on ACT; and (d) write up reports and non-technical documents. Working irregular hours and / or at weekends may be required occasionally.

    Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one year, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
