The Role :

The Finance Analyst reports into the Finance Manager and will predominantly be responsible for ensuring accuracy of expenditure accounts in APAC ledgers, as well as understanding forecasts and providing variance commentary and analysis.

They will be responsible for delivering accurate financial information and working across all cross-functional teams to discuss actual performance, spend to-date and year-to-go spend targets.

Their outputs will be used by Commercial and Finance stakeholders across the business.

Role Accountabilities :

  • Transactional : Management of AR function, including point of sale reconciliation, invoicing and collections Work with AP team to ensure credit cards are accurately coded in the ledger Ensuring maintenance of GL in ERP system for APAC business Timely reconciliation of bank accounts Support Finance Manager with ad-hoc tasks
  • Month / Year End : Preparation and posting of month end journals for prepayments, accruals and fixed assets Ensure 5-day month end close is achieved Preparation of month end reporting packs and key balance sheet reconciliations Produce month end commentary for actuals vs budget / forecast Preparation of monthly travel and cost centre reporting, with insightful commentary Hold monthly meetings with budget holders to ensure expenditure is being recognised accurately Validate and post expenditure accruals at month end based on feedback from budget holders Assist to prepare annual audit
  • Planning and Control : Supporting the Head of Finance and Finance Manager in developing the finance function for APAC;
  • developing controls, processes & reporting Focus on ensuring stock and store reconciliations Supporting with the preparation of annual and quarterly forecasts Enforce PO policy;
  • provide training to new starters and ensure teams are adhering to the policy

    Key Selection Criteria :

  • Degree / Diploma holder or above in Accounting or equivalent disciplines
  • Minimum two years relevant accounting experience, preferably in Luxury sector or FMCG
  • Retail experience is desirable
  • Month end experience essential
  • Advance user of Microsoft Excel
  • ERP systems knowledge previous experience of NetSuite advantageous but not required
  • Flexible & proactive, able to drive improvements through to completion
  • Positive can-do’ attitude
  • Ability to work under pressure and be deadline driven
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Must have the right to work and live in Hong Kong
