My client is a proprietary trading firm specializing in automated derivatives trading, including market making, index arbitrage and high frequency trading.

They are currently the leading prop trading firm across the Asian markets and have offices across the region.

The successful candidate will become a member of an exciting team responsible for the operation of their trading systems.

This is high profile role that sits in the thick of the action, right on the trade floor. It is fast-paced and exciting, working with an impressive team of technologists, traders, risk analysts and quants.

The team will cover the Asian markets. If you have an analytical mind, believe in a proactive approach to system operations and enjoy troubleshooting mission critical systems in a fast paced trading floor environment, then this role is for you!

The role

Supporting critical trading applications within a distributed multi-server environment

Develop scripts and other tools to support my client’s trading systems operations as required

Provide general trading floor support directly to traders

Play an active role in your team’s growth and results

The requirements

University Degree in Computer Science or related disciplines

2-8years’ experience in trading support or financial application development

Front Office support experience in i-banks, proprietary trading firms, finance, equities industries

Knowledge of Equity Derivatives is preferred but not essential

Experience of Linux, scripting languages (Perl, Python, PHP) and TCP / IP networking is a plus

Knowledge of scripting languages, preferably Python, PERL and PHP is a plus

Exposure to Bloomberg and ActivMQ desirable

Excellent (potential) technical troubleshooting and problem solving skills under pressure / live trading environment

Proactive, highly motivated, team spirit, forward thinking

Excellent interpersonal communication skills
