S. only). Global Insurance Compliance provides strategic support to drive continuous product innovation for the business while building an effective framework for compliance with applicable laws and regulations for insurance products.

This position will play a critical role within the Line of Business Compliance (LOBCO) team supporting enterprise-wide insurance initiatives across the Asia-Pacific, Australia / NZ & the Greater China (APAC) markets.

The successful candidate will be located in Hong Kong and be responsible for leading an effective compliance program for insurance initiatives within the entire APAC region.

The role will encompass overseeing No Additional Charge (NAC) Insurance and Fee Insurance benefits / products across the enterprise within the APAC region, including providing advice and guidance to business partners to support the continued and compliant operation of insurance-related activities across jurisdictions and business units.

This is a highly visible and strategic position with significant and regular interaction with senior leaders across the company.

Responsibilities :

Provide solution-oriented insurance compliance support for NAC and Fee Insurance benefits / products to assist business colleagues in reaching their goals while meeting compliance requirements

Partner with international stakeholders to support the Best in Class Standards and Controls Program (BIC) along with overseeing the consistent application of standards and controls for all insurance-related activities, including the Enterprise Wide Insurance Compliance Guidelines (EWICG), in the APAC region

Support initiatives through New Product Approval (NPA) enterprise-wide processes, including the international Insurance IISTAR process, to develop a robust and effective control environment

Develop and maintain strong working relationships with business partners and internal stakeholders (e.g. other Global Risk and Compliance colleagues, General Counsel’s Organization, Operational Excellence, Independent Compliance Testing, Privacy, Internal Audit Group)

Manage an effective Compliance program, including overseeing the applicable Annual Compliance Plan (ACP), Compliance Risk Assessment (CRA), Regulatory Change Management (RCM) and issue management processes

Assist internal stakeholders with regulatory requests and provide input into drafting regulatory responses

Drive implementation of policy and regulatory requirements related to relevant insurance regulations

Qualifications :

Compliance or Operational Risk expertise is required (preferably with an understanding of insurance and relevant regulatory considerations)

Insurance experience is strongly preferred

Awareness of current issues, concerns and priorities of regulators in APAC region a plus

Ability to exercise sound judgment in the development and selection of compliant solutions

Strong project management skills, ability to manage multiple projects and support multiple priorities simultaneously

Demonstrated ability to make decisions independently, work well under pressure, meet deadlines and adapt easily to frequent change

Strong leadership, analytical and organizational skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to persuade and influence

Proficiency in both English and Chinese (Cantonese) is required, multilingual (including Mandarin and Japanese) is a plus
