Responsibilities
To be a team member of Operational Risk Management Department (Monitoring & Assessment Section)
To perform the 2nd Line of Defence functions to support the Head of ORMD in discharging her duties as the Risk Controller of operational risk for the Bank Group under the ERM framework
To direct the Section to develop the risk management tools and closely monitor the Risk Owners in implementing the tools for identifying, assessing, controlling and reporting operational risk of the Bank Group
To support in compiling management reports on the monitoring results of operational risk for the Bank Group for submission to the GCRO, the Operational Risk Management Committee, the Risk Management Committee, the Risk Committee and the Board, as appropriate
To oversee the maintenance of the operational risk database. Review and analyse operational risk incidents to identify common root cause and providing recommendations to management to rectify operational vulnerabilities and improve control environment
To perform the 1st Line of Defence functions for the other risk types relevant to ORMD in accordance with the roles and responsibilities designated by the Board for the Risk Owners under ERM
To manage resource deployment and utilization, monitor staff performance and take appropriate measures to promote staff proficiency and productivity on an on-going basis
Requirements
University graduate in Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Quantitative Analysis or related discipline
Minimum 8 years of experience in Banking and Finance covering the following :
At least 5 years supervisory experience
Solid experience in operational risk management and internal control functions
Good understanding of Basel and regulatory requirements on operational risk management
Good understanding on the Bank's operational guidelines
Good command in both spoken and written English and Chinese
