Senior Manager & Actuary - IFRS 17 Technical Lead

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our department as Senior Manager & Actuary - IFRS 17 Technical Lead
Responsible for assisting the implementation of the actuarial aspects of IFRS 17 for the legal entity on behalf of the Chief Actuary, working with the key stakeholders within HSIC including Product, Finance, Investment, and within Actuarial teamAssist in development of optimal methodologies for implementing global policies and standards for the entity
As a technical lead for the IFRS 17 project, with close engagement with all key stakeholders of the project. Work with the central model build team to design and build actuarial cash flow model enhancements
Lead the implementation of the actuarial and accounting aspects of IFRS 17 for the legal entity and work with local project lead, central project team and team working on IFRS17 project in both Finance and Actuarial departments
Spearhead the development of optimal methodologies for implementing global policies and standards for the entity
Work with the central model build team to design and build actuarial cash flow model enhancements
Ensure IFRS 17 actuarial models accommodate foreseeable future requirements and growth for the entity
Ensure IFRS 17 actuarial models for the entity comply with HSBC's model risk policy
Liaise with external auditors to ensure actuarial models and methodology satisfy expectations
Assist in the communication and training of the new standard towards Risk, Finance and Business in the entity
University degree in actuarial sciences or related.
Minimum 9 years of experience with proven exposure in reporting processes and the reporting control environment
Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability of planning and problem solving
Strong self-motivation with ability of working effectively under pressure and commitment to process improvements
Proficiency in both English and Chinese
Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes
