We have a fantastic opportunity for a Low Latency Network Engineer to join an award-winning global market maker, that helps meet the liquidity needs of asset managers, banks, broker-dealers, hedge funds, government agencies, and public pension programs.
Joining our client, you will have the opportunity to help them design and deploy their next generation of production, development, and QA infrastructure and to grow their presence in Asia.
You will be part of the Network Engineering team, who is responsible for the global deployment, configuration, reliability, performance management, automation, tooling, and visibility for their network environment Securities.
Working directly with Researchers, Application Development, and other Infrastructure Engineering teams to optimize and support the trading, production, and research systems that power the business world-wide.
Work with business leaders, QR, and developers to address business needs and improve technology
Oversee the reliability, availability, and performance of the Securities Systems
Assist in the automation of repetitive tasks and improve consistency and visibility
Work with the global Infrastructure team while innovating and pushing autonomy for APAC decisions
Provide quick response to business needs by working directly with business sponsors and developers
Deep understanding of network engineering and applicable administration methods
Experience designing and maintaining multicast networks on a variety of hardware platforms
Experience designing and supporting BGP and OSPF Layer 3 routing protocols
Attention to detail and the ability to design and document complex wiring designs
Troubleshoot Layer 1 through Layer4 issues with equipment counters and packet captures
Experience in designing and supporting L1 networks and configuration and administration of devices
Experience in deploying Tap / Agg setups for capture and analysis
Have designed, operated and / or managed a mission-critical systems
Going beyond standard administration to driving improvement and innovation over time
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
Experience in the financial industry a plus but not a requirement
Knowledge of financial exchange collocations and network setups, especially APAC is a big plus
Experience with scripting languages such as Python and automation tools such as Puppet is a plus
Understanding implementation aspects of embedded hardware such as FPGA is a plus
Cisco certification (CCNP / CCIE) is considered but not required
