The role offers a breadth of exposure across some of the most advanced internal capital modelling and risk management frameworks in the market.
The successful candidate will support the EC & Actuarial Modelling team in the end-to-end EC process reflecting risk calibration, modelling methodology and results production and analysis.
This is a fantastic learning and development opportunity for a technically strong actuary who is looking for managerial experience of a small team whilst remaining hands-on in providing modelling and methodology support, analysis of risk and capital, and gaining interaction and visibility with local business units (LBUs) and other regional actuaries across the business.
Responsibilities Support key EC methodology decisions for the assigned LBUs. For example, this includes : calibration of the underlying risk distributions (e.
g. mortality, lapses), review modelling of LBU management actions review methodology for the application of EC stresses within the Prophet liability models review methodology to stress different asset classes in the EC calculation Responsible for maintaining and improving the EC framework considering internal Groupwide and external regulatory requirements.
This may include supporting large scale enhancements to the EC processes where advances in systems or methodology become available Perform an annual exercise to run LBU Prophet models to provide the raw inputs for the calibration of advanced proxy models’ for EC modelling Perform the calibration and validation of advanced proxy models’ for EC modelling Delivery of key production cycle deliverables including P&L attributions and stress test analyses Providing leadership and guidance to your team Requirements 7+ years of relevant experience (less years of experience may be considered for Manager level) Strong technical knowledge across actuarial modelling, valuation, and capital reporting Prior knowledge of EC is highly desirable Proficiency as an experienced Prophet user is highly desirable Prior knowledge of a range of insurance products and common reporting metrics (e.
g. EEV), would be beneficial to the role due to the overlap of EC models and methodology with other areas Prior experience of Par products and management practices would be beneficial Ability to independently manage a small team across a range of diverse tasks A clear communicator able to present technical methodology to management Fluent in both spoken and written English is essential (ability to speak one or more Asian languages would be desirable) Proficiency in Excel is expected, while knowledge of Prophet would be a valuable asset
