Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the EHS Officer will be responsible for establishing, overseeing and execution of environmental, health and safety (EHS) system for the biodiesel plant operation to assure it is in full compliance with all statutory requirements.
He / She will serve as the lead person, ensuring that all EH&S programs are implemented and adhered to.
Organize, managing and handling environmental, health & safety issues in the plant with the objective of driving source improvement and avoiding accident within the plant and meet relevant regulations / policies
Establish and implement EHS management system
Responsible for preparing, maintaining, and updating EHS standard, policies, programs, procedures and manuals
Enforce EHS policies, disciplines, programs and procedures to fulfill statutory and company requirements
Conducts incident investigation and root cause analysis as well as to make recommendations to prevent recurrence
Establish, review and implement the EHS requirements stated in the local regulatory and other relevant documents
Responsible for application and renewal of all required statutory permits and licenses
Other duties as assigned
Degree / Higher Diploma in safety and health management
Minimum 5 years environmental, health and safety experience in manufacturing plant
Prefer to be a Registered Safety Officer and / or preferably Registered Safety Auditor from Labour Department, HKSAR or have safety review experience
Familiar with Port Facility Security Plan is an advantage
Have good knowledge on Environment and / or Occupational Health and Safety in Hong Kong
Good follow up and co-ordination skills with stakeholders
Good communication in English, Cantonese, mandarin - both verbal and written
Self-motivated and has ability to work independently without supervision
Strong safety awareness
Good leadership skill and management competence, a self-starter, and effective communication skill with all levels of staff and managements.
