We are looking for an executive director, commercial real estate. The role is to be based in Hong Kong. The Role Responsibilities

Strategy

The industry banker is responsiblefor managing the implementation of the CRE strategy.

Business

The industry banker is responsiblefor originating and providing extensive CRE expertise on deals. The industry banker will bring coverage andproduct execution capabilities in order to focus on strategic deals (corporate finance and capital markets).

He / she will work closely as a teamwith the regional industry heads, relationship managers and product partners todeepen client relationships and drive revenue and returns growth.

  • Deliver new mandates to help achieve the industry coverage annualbudgets
  • Ensure mandates are properly and expediently executed to thehighest standards
  • Lead engagement with client, including deal economics, engagementletter and term sheet negotiations
  • Position SCB’s industry group as a first port of call for SCB’score clients requiring services in M&A advisory, LBO advisory, privateequity placements, acquisition financing
  • Work closely with relationship managers / industry bankers toup-tier key client relationships and help propagate an advisory culture in thewholesale bank
  • Work closely with global market product partners and other corporate finance teams to integrate and cross-sell products
  • Leveragekey lending relationships to win advisory and acquisitionfinancing mandates
  • May be required to carry delegated authority and responsibility of regional industry head

  • Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development ofpeople, and ensure that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilledand qualified for their roles ensuring that they have effective supervision inplace to mitigate any risks

  • Responsible for assessing the effectiveness of the team’sarrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in thebusiness and, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas
  • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in whichthe group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevantto the role.
  • Responsible for delivering effective governance’; capability tochallenge fellow executives effectively; and willingness to work with any localregulators in an open and cooperative manner.
  • Risk Management

  • Provide appropriate guidance to the team to ensure portfoliostandards are being met
  • Engage risk and legal & compliance as appropriate to escalateitems relating to risk management
  • Regulatory & Business conduct

  • Our Ideal Candidate

  • Degree or post graduate qualified from atop-tier school
  • Prior experience in a top-tier investment bankwith a track record in structured debt, project finance, M&A, capital markets, financial markets and structured trade transactions
  • Good knowledge and understanding of industrywithin scope of responsibility
  • Solid financial analysis, client interaction,deal negotiation and structuring
  • Strong understanding of regulatory andcompliance obligations
  • Ability to excel in both team and self-directedsettings
  • Strong work ethics, detail orientation and apassion for excellence
  • Effective communication skills both written and oral with internal andexternal clients
