We are seeking a Sales Specialist for our Compliance & Risk business who will play a key role in securing new business and delivering sales, both with new customers and within existing accounts.

About the Role

This role brings deep subject matter expertise, structured in alignment with our Risk & Compliance propositions. The role will target key decision makers across financial institutions, corporates and government sectors.

The key priorities will be to grow the book of business as well as new business development in white space in order to build increasing value and achieve our overall growth aspirations.

The propositions we are providing to our customers include Compliance & Conduct focused e-learning solutions, TR’s Regulatory Intelligence content as well as Financial Crime-related research and analytics.

In this role, you will have the following responsibilities / accountabilities :

  • To own the target for the propositions in North Asia excl. China
  • To adhere to our weekly activities targets in order to build a strong pipeline in your pre-defined market segment
  • To develop expert knowledge to target client base competently, recognize client needs and propose solutions.
  • To generate new business opportunities and closures in white space, by taking qualified leads from multiple sources including Marketing and Cold Calls
  • To prospect and demonstrate Thomson Reuter’s capability to new customers, develop proposals, negotiate contracts and finally close the business often in collaboration with TR’s product teams.
  • To ensure the effective handover of accounts to Client Specialists and to provide feedback from the customer to segments and participating in transition meetings with the Client Specialists and the customer
  • To build knowledge of competition, maintain accurate customer contact and opportunity data in our CRM system, and conduct win / loss analysis plus to maintain strong awareness of market, trends to identify business opportunities
  • About You

    You’re a fit for this role if you possess the following qualifications and experiences :

  • 2-5 years’ experience in a B2B-business development role focusing on products linked to Risk / Compliance, software or training solutions
  • Experience in Risk & Compliance or training topics and selling to financial institutions preferred
  • Demonstrated track record of success in meeting and exceeding sales targets
  • Customer centric mindset. Strong commercial acumen and ability to identify opportunities in white space
  • Ability to partner effectively with the wider sales team and internal stakeholders
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation, presentation and consultative sales skills
  • A real interest and curiosity in a variety of topics such as Financial Crime, Conduct Risk, Regulatory Data & Technologies etc.
  • A can-do attitude and the willingness to continuously improve your subject matter expertise
  • Strong English and Chinese language skills
