Core Purpose of the Role :
Assist Controllers to ensure completeness, accuracy and timeliness of transactions to support the statutory and regulatory close and reporting processes.
Assist Controllers to ensure adherence and compliance with the control environment through collaboration with ERM, Compliance, SOX, Internal and External Audit teams.
Reporting Lines :
The Assistant Controller will report to the Controller
Key Responsibilities :
Coordinate among different finance functions in both local country and Finance Center to manage USGAAP and Local financial close calendar.
Assist Controllers in reviewing journal vouchers, financial submissions and / or related activities in conjunction with Finance Center.
Manage in-country treasury processes including cash flow forecasts, funding and investments management, bank administration processes.
Coordinate local internal / external audit processes with Finance Centres.
Coordinate with tax, transfer pricing team and tax representatives, and respond to enquiries and questions within the stipulated timelines.
Ensure proper documentations and archiving procedures are in place, to comply with SOX, Internal / External Audit and Audit Committee requirements.
Arrange logisticsfor regular financial reporting submissions.
Collaborate with stakeholders as part of regular management reporting cycles and ad hoc business driven requests.
Key Capabilities :
Financial and Strategic Acumen : Accomplished finance individual with strong knowledge ofthe Insurance Industry, local regulatory and tax environment.
Able to collaborate across functions and can communicate well with others. Ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial colleagues.
Managerial Leadership : Able to work cohesively in a matrix structure managing experienced senior finance managers.
TechnicalSkills : Good understanding ofthe local accounting standards and tax and regulatory requirements. Excellent problem solving skills.
US GAAP skills preferred but not necessary.
Key Experience :
Qualified Accountant or equivalent
Experience of working in financial services environment, preferably insurance
Experience of engaging with management level
Fluent in English language
Proven knowledge and understanding of the local country regulatory framework and requirements
Ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial colleagues
Prior work experience working within an onshore-offshore model is preferred
Candidates with less experience will also be considered for junior role
