The Logistics Manager plays a critical role on the Marketplace team working across several luxury categories and ensuring an efficient inbound and outbound workflow of property from end to end.

This position is responsible for processing intakes, condition checks, inventory flow, and outbound fulfillment (pick, pack and ship) ensuring that all relevant information about each object is accurately cross-referenced and tracked from the time of intake through release from our care and control, including safely and securely stored and maintained in our facility.

The successful candidate will have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, maintain a high level of detail, communicate clearly, coordinate amongst team members effectively, and manage their time efficiently to hit overall objectives set.

This position also manages the transformation of warehouse operations from new start-up status to a world class level.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work cross-category with a variety of luxury objects and cross-functionally with inventory, supply chain, cataloguers, account management, and photography teams.
  • Review, photograph, and verify the condition and accuracy of important descriptive information to ensure proper intake and release of property by documenting and verifying logistical attributes, including piece count, pre-existing conditions, etc.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound collections of property with Sotheby’s Supply Chain team, Sotheby’s clients collecting or dropping off in person, and third-party shipping companies.
  • Verify inbound / outbound paperwork is accurate and reflects scheduled property movements.
  • Maintain the integrity of the Operational procedures and comply with Risk Management / Security Department requirements.
  • Act as liaison among departments with direction of property to the appropriate locations based on property lifecycle, for inventory, cataloging, photography, storage, collection, viewings or outbound shipping.
  • Maintain paperwork and records for audit purposes, reporting any discrepancies to the appropriate colleague.
  • Establish cycle-count process, publish aging report, property journey report and maintain all document and data for internal and external audits.
  • Establish SOP & KPIs for 4-wall operations, transport and logistics
  • Manage storage space capacity for normal and overflow operations
  • Manage 3PL performance, review and conduct operational review for improvement
