The 3D Specialist is responsible for the creation of high-quality 3D content using 3D tools and related applications, including digital product development, B2B and Consumer-facing DPC related projects;
and to set and implement best practices for internal and external 3D users at RL. The role will actively take part in driving the establishment of RL Digital quality standards and process with focus on 3D prototypes and samples created by suppliers and 3D fluency of the sourcing organization.
This role will provide trainings and workshops to educate, motivate, encourage and support employees in using 3D tools and secure quality, of both factories as well as internal created 3D assets, while striving to improve these processes and 3D product quality.
Enforce controls and measures to ensure RLs digital standards are maintained and assist in driving the process implementation of standards with the sourcing teams and RL factories.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Creates high quality 3D assets and renderings for RL brands
Reviews 3D files produced by DPC factory partners.
Assists in setting standards and SOPs for 3D review and quality control.
Implements, monitors and provides feedback for improving factory’s 3D quality standards.
Coordinates and delivers training, provides coaching and corrective measures for teams to ensure that standards are met.
Creates reports to track progress and increase productivity.
Educates users on special materials and rendering concepts as it relates to the 3D creation and rendering of special materials.
Supports the monitoring of incoming factory work and coordinates flow cross functionally where needed.
Works with software vendors to identify areas of improvement in 3D tool usage for factories.
Experience, Skills & Knowledge
Bachelor’s Degree in Apparel, Textiles, Fashion Design, Patternmaking or relevant disciplines.
Experience working in US buying office or large trading business, preferably in apparel / footwear or accessories industries.
Garment technician or related background; understand product construction, patterns, materials and trims.
Ability to analyze 3D files and understand differences and opportunities for virtual vs physical products.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
Willingness to work with and assist other departments; a desire to help others achieve their best.
Strong attention to details and organization skills.
Highly motivated, committed, effective and supportive team member, able to work flexibly.
