The role reports to the Head of Analysis & Advisory, Asia WAM. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic insight on multiple fronts to optimise the financial performance of the business.

We are looking for someone with :

Accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA, CPA) with 5+ years of relevant experience in progressive accounting roles.

University degree in business, finance or equivalent.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate, negotiate and influence effectively.

Self-starter with the ability to work independently, particularly in the area of using sound, independent judgment, problem-solving and analytical skills.

Results oriented, able to manage expectations, work under tight deadlines and manage competing priorities.

Excellent customer focus and commitment to quality.

Strong business acumen with ability to communicate complex concepts and results in a clear, concise, easy to understand manner (written and verbal).

Solid analytical and technical capability - ability to assimilate / summarize a large amount of information from multiple sources and present in a value-added form for senior management

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new applications quickly

Essbase and Lawson knowledge (or other complex GL package) would be an asset

On the job you will :

Assume ownership of the validation, review and analysis of the Desk P&L team profitability reporting for all Asia-based investment management desks

Evaluate the need to update booking for Desk-to-Desk sub advisory relationships in either actuals or from a reporting perspective to ensure accurate mapping and representation in profitability views, as well as alignment with sales region source view AUM

Administer and review the in scope / out of scope revenue by fund & PM in support of the Deferred Incentive Plans & annual compensation cycle

Engage with HR during the compensation cycle to ensure all required data points are available within established timelines to facilitate smooth approval & sign-off on annual awards

Analyze and administer the Cost of Management allocation process for the Asia-based desks, review potential cost savings, and interact with management to ensure accountability on expense plans & forecasts

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to refine, enhance & update the Cost of Management process to ensure an accurate & fair allocation of cost;
  • socialize across Finance any changes or material impacts in the Cost of Management process

    Perform deep dive analysis of existing sub advisory fee rate agreements in collaboration with Portfolio Specialists to determine if any updates or amendments are required

    Review Headcount reporting, forecasting and support outsourcing & lower cost location feasibility

    Review of the regional vs. local costs within the various Asia Desks
