As a Tech Lead, you take ownership on the technical delivery of one of RGA’s programs, overseeing all IT related developments and acting as a bridge between business and IT teams (including developers, testers and business analysts) to guarantee an efficient delivery that maximizes user value.
You are an experienced Agile and DevOps practitioner with extensive experience in developing, testing and releasing software, and experience in project planning and management.
You have previously built, motivated and led high-performing development teams. To be successful in this role, you need to have strong technical skills, a passion for managing and developing people and a sensitivity to customer service.
In collaboration with the Team Lead / Scrum Master and Product Owner, understand business needs and their prioritization, and convey them to the development team
Establish best practices for developing processes, technologies, coding practices and architectures that lead to resilient, maintainable, agile operational systems that meet business and technical requirements, and ensure the development team follows these processes
Lead and coach a team of developers, testers and other technical teammates
Be involved in project planning and management decisions, including budgeting and staffing plans
Socialize key stakeholders on development progress, budget impact and benefits of solutions, partnering with product teams to define and deliver an aligned roadmap
Ensure DevOps is understood across the organization, drive culture change towards self-organization and foster alignment between infrastructure, development and product teams as well as stakeholders
Continuously learn new technologies and help keep the teams abreast of evolving best practices
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 7+ years of IT operations or development experience, of which 5+ years of leading complex software Agile delivery, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
3+ years of experience leading a team with direct reports
Solid knowledge of Agile and DevOps development processes and software development lifecycle
Experience with AWS cloud technologies, API development, container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker), MongoDB, Postgres, Grafana, Jenkins and Terraform
Capable programmer in Node.js, Typescript, HTML & CSS
Familiar with CI / CD
Experience using Agile tools to manage backlog and track iterations (e.g. Azure DevOps, Jira )
Knowledge of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
DevOps certifications (CKA, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Microsoft Azure DevOps Solution )
SAFe certifications (SDP, ASE )
Insurance or financial services experience
