    Department Overview :

    Fitch Wire is a global team that works with ratings analysts and group credit officers to publish timely and opinionated credit market research and commentary on significant topics of interest to bond investors.

    In an average year, over 800 research notes and 50 special reports are published through Fitch Wire. We have team-members in Chicago, New York, London and Hong Kong.

    Our core objectives are to ensure timely analysis and commentary on key credit themes, to coordinate research across different analytical groups, to draw attention to potential credit risks, and to raise the visibility of Fitch’s best credit work.

    We are a member of Fitch’s Credit Policy Group (CPG), a Risk Group department responsible for strengthening Fitch’s credit analysis, ratings and research.

    We are looking for an individual who has deep analytical and research experience, strong written communication skills and cross-sector versatility.

    The person will be responsible for writing topical and thematic research for a portfolio of Asia-Pacific regions and sectors working collaboratively with ratings analysts and credit officers.

    They will work together with Fitch Wire, CPG and Ratings Group leadership to help define and influence the research agenda.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Work with ratings analysts and credit officers to produce regular short form research notes and longer form research reports on key themes and topical issues pertaining to credit in the Asia-Pacific region
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders including ratings groups and group credit officers
  • Coordinate with other members of the Fitch Wire team and Credit Policy leadership to help develop and drive research themes and ideas within the wider company
  • The role does not involve any direct managerial responsibilities
  • Education / Experience / Certification Requirements :

  • 8+ years analytical and research experience from a ratings agency, financial / macroeconomic research firm, bank, asset manager or other buy-side investment firm
  • Skills Required :

  • Versatile analyst with proven credit, macro and / or sector research background.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Samples of past research / analysis to demonstrate ability of concise analytical writing would be useful
  • Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively in a consensus culture
  • Ability to think laterally and work as a cross-sector / cross-geography analyst
  • Fluent Mandarin would be a plus
