Sourcing
Works closely with NY RM team on seasonal offering needs to source material options that support target price, technical requirement, with brand appropriate aesthetic.
With NY RM team input, develop a supplier base to support the company's growth opportunity.
Manage new development quality, evaluate the risky and price negotiating
Coordinate supplier appointments in tandem with the calendar.
Development
Follow up on the calendar by every season to promote the flow of development
Manage the Lab Dip / Prototypes / Market samples non-leather material ordering and delivery.
Communicate effectively with HKPD / PM & NYRM team for non-leather sample material delivery & quality updates.
Validate accurate material set up in PLM through review all Fabric Data Sheets for accuracy, quality, affordability and compliance prior to issuance.
Work with cross-functional team on material quality VS handbag construction review during the development stage. Follow up with suppliers on resolutions of any discrepancies.
Support Supervisor to prepare seasonal material presentation to HK cross functional team to introduce new material characteristics, provide technique suggestions and alert any potential risks to the team during development stage.
Work with NY RM team to set up material approved standards (quality, colors, acceptable variation) and distribute to suppliers and HB vendors
Ensure that all materials used are compliant to meet company testing requirements
Prepare Market samples material analysis report by each season
Work on sustainability projects
Operations
Support Social Compliance Team for new supplier's audit, to ensure these new suppliers can achieve Tory Bruch standards and pass information to Social Compliance Team to follow up the new supplier kick-off process
Works to calendar to ensure timely turnover of development, return of prototypes, and market samples and placement of final production
Follow up with Mills and Finance team for material payments
Manage development liability inventories
Provide Textile knowledge training orientation cross-functional team, frequent touch base, and give clear information during solution
Analyze and report information relevant to material cost, drop rate, Production Leadtime, material sourcing strategy etc.
Works on other relevant projects as required by supervisor.
EDUCATION & PRIOR EXPERIENCE NEEDED
Bachelor's degree or higher level education preferred
8+ years experience in Handbag textile sourcing and development
Knowledgeable in product development, production processes and best practices
Strong collaborative, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Excellent analytical and record keeping skills
Able to work in a fluid, fast-paced, multi-channel environment.
Ability to travel as needed
Strong communication skills
